Berlin High School Registration

Grade 9 registration for the 2015-2016 School Year will be from March 4 – March 13.  Your child will receive a High School Registration Letter the week of March 2, 2015, giving directions on how to register on PowerSchool.

If you are in disagreement with a teacher recommendation, please see the Override Form 2015.  We encourage that a consultation takes place between the parent, student, and teacher.  Completed forms can be returned to Mrs. Brintle, Grade 8 School Counselor, in the Main Office no later than April 10, 2015.

 

High School Applications

Your school counselor will gladly assist in helping any family interested in exploring an alternative high school education.

Please provide a 10×13 manila envelope for each requested set of transcripts and recommendation forms. Address each envelope to the school(s) for which the forms are intended, and please place a minimum of 4 stamps on each envelope.

Please provide the staff with at least a two-week turn around time. (Be mindful of each school’s deadline dates)

***In accordance with our school counseling policy, due to the subjective nature of recommendations, they will not be completed by the counselors.

 

Exploring High School Options

This year is going to be filled with a lot of decisions for many families. Where are you planning on sending your student next fall? If you would like to learn more about various high school options, I encourage you to take a look at E.C. Goodwin Technical High School’s website. Your child may also consider Vinal Technical High School, if there is a unique program offered. Students may also prepare for a career in agriculture and related fields at Southington High School’s Agriculture Science and Technology Program. Finally, some families may decide to consider a magnet school as an option. The best way to know if any of these options are a good fit for your child is to visit the school’s website and to take a tour of the school.
